Tanaka

Yasu Tanaka has a lot of models of Formula 1 racing cars, mostly from the late 1990s and 2000, and two from the 1970s. He also has a Lamborghini car and a motorcycle - the diminutive Honda Motocompo from the 1980s.

He has also designed models for others, some of which are mentioned on his site, but hosted elsewhere. There are three simple models for Nippon Paper Industries, which appear no longer to be available, and two ski resort snow-grooming machines for Ohara Corporation.

Although the web site still exists in 2020, it does not appear to have changed since 2007, and no new models have appeared since 2003.

Ohara DF370

Ohara DF370

This is a model of a snow-grooming machine for ski resorts. It consists of a tractor with very broad caterpillar tracks, with a bulldozer blade at the front and a roller at the back. Each end has several movements controlled by hydraulic rams, and several of them operate on the model.

The supplied scale is 1:43, but I chose to reduce it somewhat, to 1:60. It is a long time ago that I made it, and I don't remember why I chose this particular scale. The model was beautifully designed and went together very well, despite its complexity.
